Taking inspiration from Mexico's most celebrated artist Frida Kahlo, this body of work, marries the classic with surreal, a meeting of two different worlds.
The bright and bold Pop colours combined with the intricate patterns of a Kahlo-like scene:
Exotic fauna, cacti, skulls, tropical birds and fruits worked from scratch. these canvases, timber portholes, hearts and crosses have been lovingly sanded down and hand-painted in water-colours.
Working for myself as an artist comes with a lot of uncertainty, but that's what makes it so exciting.
I never really know what lies in the horizon or where my art may take me next, but when I look back I can see how many good things have come my way and how fateful some have seemed.
Each time these memorable opportunities occur, they remind me that I'm on the right pathway.
I feel so grateful to be able to fully immerse myself in creative living.
Doing something that sets your soul on fire is a privilege and I feel lucky to be able to do this for a living.
It's not always an easy road but the rewards are worth far more than I ever expected.
